An Art Book for XTmas!

Yesterday walking along the streets of Paris I could see the amount of people buying cut pines for 100 euros so they can decorate their livings for 2 weeks and then throw them away again. They pay all that to kill trees for their fake joy during 2 weeks.

An Art book lasts much longer and can make you trip. (And it’s cheaper!).

Do you realise that when you buy an art book you’re giving several presents, including to yourself?
First you give yourself the pleasure of making the author’s happy, by showing how much you like his work. The author will give in return his own gratitude and his own work within the book. Afterwards you’ll give yourself the pleasure of having an art book or even the joy of giving it to a special friend. Who doesn’t like an art book? Do you remember when you can sit down with an art book on your hands, the pleasure you can have by paging it, smelling it, get lost in its texts and images allowing yourself dreaming and go along with art?

Is there a better present than a book? Yes, an art book. A book of artist. To purchase a book of artist you end up contributing for a happier world!

So what are you waiting for? Don’t you want to have the pleasure of letting yourself having the joy of travelling within your own mind? And make an artist happy? And a friend even more? And fulfil yourself?

Be different and wiser: Give an Art Book this Christmas!

NUDE, is a secret book of nudes, photographs that Gonzalo Bénard took from 2008 to 2012, in Barcelona, Lisbon and Paris. Gonzalo Bénard has been taking nudes in his different approaches of photography, from the Silent Skins, to the Awaken Bodies, Body Expressions, or even the nudes taken through satellite using webcams as a “voyeur” to some volunteers in their own loneliness. NUDE is a small compilation with some of those nudes from the last years. Nude has 74 pages including few texts and many nudes.

Gonzalo Bénard is the stranger that is shooting – a long distance voyeur – young volunteers who are lonely in their homes; the process becomes a kind of sociological game – Bénard becomes the witness of their solitary habits. Shooting via a webcam/ as security camera, he records their private moments, never leaving them while they cook, shower, read, drink, play, sleep or dance alone in their own private places. 120 pages with some of the best images of these young loners rituals. Be the witness yourself. B Shot by a Stranger.

And finally the Oneness book!

Oneness, is related to the period of the artist’s life, right before and after the coma, from when he felt and express his own death and freed his soul, to the rebirth 3 days after, getting into the woods to preform some shamanic rituals, in which he brought the power and skills of the animals to embody him, like in the old shamanic rituals, being a bull, a horse, or just be part of the wise nature.  All this now compiled in 80 large pages with great quality, including a deep text on the whole process of life and death. You can find some of the images at the gallery Oneness.
