The Hard Softness (NSFW)

Following the series Oneness made in the countryside, now that I’m living in the centre of Paris I often have the need to re-connect with nature. Maybe as the old shamans had, to (re)pick up the understanding of nature, the senses and wisdom of the animals, the back in basic to the abstraction. Of mind and of oneself.

In the first era of sensitive men, they didn’t invent gods as they were enough aware of the true spirits of nature as it was, aware of the senses of the animals and of the plants, becoming true shamans with a deep knowledge of living nature and its spirits.

These men were the first ones who created artistic teachings for us as prayers to the spirits of nature. Even if we tend to overlook the engravings and meanings of them, they knew that men was not strong enough or didn’t have enough power or wasn’t yet enough evolved to reach certain natural targets.

They knew that invoking the spirits of other animals to be part of their own selves as hunters, they would turn better, more powerful, with better senses, or with more ability to reach their preys, to bring to them the spirit of the chosen animal to help them in daily life. This brings us also the knowledge of their rituals, believes and awareness of pure nature, respecting them as they are.

The feathers that protect and build the wings of the birds, in our mind as synonymous of freedom of fly, or the horns that some other animals use to protect themselves fighting for survival, are used here as they are, but also as tools of engravings in oneself, to leave the stroke engraved as prayers. The balance of the constant fights and love relation that can exist between them, or even between ourselves as one. That balance of dialogue needed to be fed by inner communications so many times lost in translation, between the hardness of a horn and the softness of a feather.

“The Hard Softness” series are trails and paths of inner doubts and battles, between the freedom of fly and the strength to fight. Mostly from oneself to oneself in our own different worlds of mind, playing tricks between subconscious and consciousness, sleepiness and awareness, blindness and wisdom. Prayers to the nature of balance out of the human mind.

“The Hard Softness” stories are morning woods, so many times annoyingly pleasant, but often needed to make us feel alive.
