B Shot by a Stranger 2013

It’s official:

After the magnificent response on the “B Shot by a Stranger” project that I’ve created in 2012, and still with so many to unveil and discover, I decided to make a part II: the B Shot by a Stranger 2013.

To end up the 2012 edition, the book B Shot by a Stranger  was published with almost 100 most notorious photographs, from the hundreds of them that were taken along the year for this project. Within the book, is also the main text for this project written by me, a text written by one of the volunteers, Rob Wolfsham (writer) about his experience on the other side, and a great interview by Deak Rostochil, The Velvet Scientist.

Lost of articles and interviews were done and featured in the most amazing blogzines through the web (Elitism; Empty Kingdom; MutantSpace; TopPhotographyFilms; AtBalbec; CO-mag; Lost@EMinor, etc), and also published in printed magazines of photography as EYEMAZING, with a wonderful article by Hilaire Avril in a 7 pages gallery:

The book that you can still preview and purchase HERE, was also featured and recommended in several art/photography blogs and printed magazines like AZART photography.

A Tumblr page for B Shot by a Stranger was created so you can follow some regular shots of the project, and some news. Also it’s through tumblr and facebook’s fan page that most of the volunteers send me PM’s expressing their will to participate in the project. If you’re a young loner (+18) and want to participate contact me through one of these websites so we can chat about it.

Several universities (Art/Photography) around the globe are doing lectures about this project, from Iran to Ireland, England to US. I’ve been contacted by both University teachers and students to talk about the B Shot by a Stranger.

The B Shot by a Stranger 2013 will have some small changes as it’s always growing and adding with new people. It’s a project that takes time and some huge effort, but it’s a joy to do it after all. Have been knowing wonderful people through this project and this will be the second year shooting as a stranger. Not easy at all to shoot not being in the same physical place as the model, but that’s the aim: not interfering with their own loneliness.

This year will be held an exhibition at an art gallery in Paris, with the most important selection of photographs, printed in 50x50cm each. It will be also published the book B Shot by a Stranger II, with the new selected photos that were not in the first book. So stay tuned.

B Shot by a Stranger project is all about spying on loneliness, ending up being a great time for the loners and for the stranger. A psychologic play between voyeur and exhibitionist, a stranger and a loner. Without the stranger being there. Without the loner being here.
